Terms and conditions

This is a starting point, not legal advice. It is written to be replaced. Have a lawyer in your own jurisdiction review it before you take a booking, and fill in the operator details below.

1. Who you are contracting with

These terms are between you and the operator named in the footer of this site, registered at the address shown there. Where these terms say "we", that is who is meant.

2. Booking and payment

A booking is confirmed when we have received either the deposit or the full amount, and have sent you a written confirmation. The seat or the dates are not held before that. Where a deposit is taken, the balance is due before arrival on the date stated in your confirmation.

3. Cancellation by you

You may cancel through your account up to the notice period shown on your booking. Cancellations after that are handled case by case and are not automatically refundable. We strongly recommend travel insurance, which covers the reasons people usually have to cancel.

4. Cancellation by us

If we cancel a retreat for any reason, you are offered a transfer to another date or a full refund of everything you have paid us. We are not responsible for flights or other travel you booked separately, which is again why travel insurance matters.

5. Changes to a programme

Weather, boat conditions and the health of a facilitator can all change what happens on a given day. The house, the dates and the number of people do not change; the detail of the schedule may.

6. Your own fitness to attend

These weeks involve swimming, walking and time away from medical care. You are responsible for judging whether that suits you, and for telling us in advance about anything we would need to know in an emergency.

7. Behaviour

You are sharing a house with other people. We reserve the right to ask someone to leave, without refund, if their behaviour makes the week unsafe or unpleasant for the rest of the group.

8. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking.
